The Palm Islands are totally Man made islands in Dubai (UAE) for the purpose of major commercial and residential infrastructure will be constructed in the Arabian Gulf off coast of Dubai. The Palm islands are developed by Nakheel Properties, a real state developer company in the United Arab Emirates. It is designed in the shape of palm tree in Arabian Gulf off coast of Dubai. Each palm tree consisting of 17 palm leafs and a Trunk along with a defensive breakwater.
The Palm Islands, also known as the Palm Dubai and the Palms are the largest man made land reclamation projects in the world. Which are being developed on the coast of the Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The idea of developing palm tree announced in may 2002 and the all three palm islands are developed to become a main tourist destination in Dubai. Palm Islands is also the self-declared “Eighth Wonder of the World’.
The islands are The Palm Jumeirah, The Palm Jebel Ali and The Palm Deira once done would be the world’s biggest ever man-made island and will be visible from the moon. Each Palm Island will calculate around 6 kms in length and 5.5kms in width and jointly include almost 120kms of new coastline to Dubai. Each protective breakwater surrounding palm Islands will calculate approximately 200 meters in width and be 11kms long. Residents started moving into their Palm Jumeirah properties at the end of 2006 after five years of Island developed began.
